A couple days ago I told you that time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time, but today I am going to ask you pay close attention to the things that are TRULY wasting time, especially at work.
TimeDoctor produced this excellent infographic summing up the biggest time wasters at work. It’s not surprising that useless meetings are in the top 3 time wasters! If you are a manager and can control the number the meetings your team is involved in you should start right there. Cut those meetings back to 15 minutes, or cancel them all together – if you think about what it is you are trying to accomplish, pulling people into a meeting is probably the LEAST productive way to meet your goals.
Watch out for all that time you lose chatting up your coworkers, and we all know how easy it is to get sucked into a bottomless hole of web surfing. These things are easily controlled, if you are aware of your habit of doing them.
