Criticism: some of us go out of our way to avoid it.

We don’t push our boundaries because we know we can do everything perfectly here within our box. Meaning no one will criticism our work, no one will say we did it wrong.

We don’t follow our dreams because that means we have to share our dreams with others. And if they don’t know about our dream they can’t tell us how stupid it is, or how it will fail.

We don’t try for the promotion because then we won’t have the live the consequences of why we didn’t get it.

You get the picture.

Do you see something of yourself in there?

But you have to break free from that thinking – criticism hurts, but it makes us stronger, challenges our goals and processes, and if they can’t stand up to the criticism we have the opportunity to change them, strengthen, shore them to withstand the next wave of criticism.

But if you don’t ever take the chance you won’t be able to hold up to the smallest bit of criticism, and back into the box you go.

Criticism is not a judgement of you, it’s an opportunity to grow, be better, and get closer to your goals. Instead of avoiding criticism, embrace it. Welcome it with a smile, and thank the people who give it, because they are helping you reach your dreams.

There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, be nothing. ~ Aristotle

Do something.

Say something.

Be something
